Duties:

RESOLUTION CREATING THE TOWN ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON SENIORS

 

WHEREAS, the Town Board has expressed the desire to explore ways to enable the Town’s senior population to thrive and live independently within the community; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Nassau greatly benefits from a population of diverse age and experience; and
 

WHEREAS, there are federal, state, county and private sector programs and services that may aid our Town’s senior population;

 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:

1.                 The Town Board authorizes the creation of a citizens advisory committee to be named the “Town Advisory Committee on Seniors”; and

2.                 Such Committee shall  be composed of not more than nine members to be selected by the Town Board; and

3.                 That such Committee shall explore the planning and coordination of senior programs and services for the residents of Nassau, shall work to stimulate the interest and action toward the expansion and creation of new programs for Nassau’s senior population; and seek to coordinate and provide information and education to the general public to make the senior population more aware of the programs and services potentially available; and

4.                 Such Town Advisory Committee on Seniors shall report to the Town Board on a regular basis.
